Plan Ahead
When you're thinking of where to go, it's good to start thinking about what you'll need - visa, vaccines, gear upgrades...
- Check visa requirements early, before booking anything, to ensure you can get your visa on time! If you apply too late, you may not be able to enter by your booking date.
- See a doctor before you go to make sure you're up to date with all relevant vaccines and health checks, and aware of any health risks on your trip.
- Let your bank know when you're travelling to avoid any frozen cards or suspicious transaction blocks.
Know your Destination
Understanding where you're headed makes travel easier:
- Know visa and documentation requirements from official government websites. Sometimes, government websites can be hard to find, so look out for .gov, .go, or national tags in the URL (e.g. .gov.th for Thailand, .gov.au for Australia)
- Stay aware of local laws to avoid surprises. (For example, did you know that building sandcastles is illegal in some parts of Spain?). Embassy and government websites are great resources to help you stay out of trouble, keeping in mind the URL tags above.
- Stay aware of social customs and be respectful of your host country! Customs like body language, attire and photography are viewed differently in different countries, and it's important to adjust to their norms. This will keep you out of trouble, enhance your travel experience, and might even help you build relationships with locals.
- Plan transportation from airports and around the city, based on what's available in your destination—services like The Man in Seat 61 and Rome2Rio can help.
- Pack for the weather, but stay flexible! Forecasts aren’t always accurate. Our Easy Storage collection is full of items to provide and save space for all your essentials, Our Backpack Essentials collection is full of versatile, innovative items, so you have room for your clothes no matter the weather.
- Travel adapters are different in each country, so make sure you bring along the right one! They typically also sell local adaptors in host countries. Easy Packer's Universal Adapter can keep you connected all around the world.
Book Smart

- Find the right place to stay even in unfamiliar destinations. Research options that match your comfort, budget and travel goals. Some great resources include SmartTraveller, Region-specific travel companies and travel communities on social media sites.
- Travel goals and some rough plans help avoid stress, even for the spontaneous travellers. Are you looking for a quiet beach getaway, or to be in the heart of the party? It's good to know where you want to stay, and what you'd like to do, even if you don't want to book it yet. Websites like Agoda and TripAdvisor can help.
